New game announcements

Next Frantic Friday 1800 May 3rd

changes :

•adjusted pick up percentages
•increased fighter Damage to all non base targets
•increased cloaker damage after decloak this “bonus” lasts a short time after decloaking
•slightly increased bombers damage to HW
•increased damage rng, misses will no longer happen
•greatly increased repair ships, points earned should be equal to what they were before but repair much better now

May have some more changes after meeting with Gareth today and his cousin.

She may be able to give the website a much needed face lift and “modernize” the layout and overall look

On Wednesday at 20:30 UK time we'll be running a lag test on an aspect of the code that is new in v2. Code has been put in to stop multiple kills when 2 pilots both attack the same target at the same time. The same code should also stop fake kills (when a pilot is attacked and repped at the same time). The code works by processing any attacks / repairs on pilot X one at a time. If the server is fast enough players will not notice that behind the scenes their attack may have waited for someone else's attack to be processed. However, it may become noticeable if there is a large queue of several attacks all on the same pilot.

The test is designed to determine whether the current server is fast enough to deal with queued attacks or whether the code will have to be amended or removed. The test will take the following form:

All players will be transported to the Uncharted Sector.
All players will be given 500 moves.
All players will be made invulnerable (so no point shooting each other).
A giant target will be created for all players to attack as rapidly as possible at 20:30.
At the end of the test, all players will be returned to their HWs or roids if they would prefer.

It would be good if as many of you as possible can make it to put the server under as much pressure as possible. They'll be lots of points available with 500 moves so plenty of scope to level up :)

Going straight into another test frantic at 15:00 today. Should be quite a bit of coding going on next week so please be vigilant for bugs.

Some changes for testing purposes:

Squad sized changed to 15....might need a beta to get enough players test though.
Scrap limit now 5k.
Bombers now using old scoring formula.

Coming up:

Hyper confirmation
Ability to play under an anonymous nick.
Mobile version / app improvements
