Considering it is not often that you want to select anything else than "all", "sector", "council" or "squadron", the whole multi-select box can be moved to a seperate page or all the way to the bottom, imho.

About NavCom: the thing that annoys me right now is the similarity between the NavCom and the Scans page.

And I just fell for it. Again!

Imagine being tired and your ship being already below half health. You tinker around, then think: Hey, I didnt know i had scans of PK? Click!
Ohhhhh F....cking Ooops! That was Navcom page, not Scans.

And then it is bye bye cruiser.

Any ideas to make it look different? e.g. white background and black lines would be totally different but might not look so good

How about a watermark on the scans.

Mouse pointer changes to magnifying class when hovering over scan map.
the word "hyper" appear when hovering over a sector.

or insert a javascript confirm: are you sure you want to hyper here? if the pilot also has access to scans.

another thing I was wondering about the map: is there a specific reason for it to be in portrait-mode? If we'd show it in landscape mode (just like the asteroid fields) it would use more of our screen width

When will the new layout be ready? We can resize the map when we know what size to make it for that
