I'll post various updates of my carrier testing as we do them.
I was able to pick up a carrier.
Pilots can enter carrier, even if cloaked.
I cannot see who is inside the carrier. No option for ejecting them.
Haven't tried to hyper yet.

Cruisers still cannot enter a carrier, despite the official name of "Cruiser Carrier"
also, on my ship stats page, I have shields:60 speed:30 weapons:32.
I can hyper with a ship inside and he seems to be traveling just fine.
Pilots cannot enter after Carrier leaves system, either in same turn or next, when carrier is already in another sector.
Scrap remains with ship when picking up carrier, self-rep works, can put scrap on base. Don't think I got points for it. Didn't get around to trying to click on the "repair" button that appeared next to Boraxus when it was damaged.
Will continue to update as we test more features.

Pilots cannot exit a carrier while it is hypering. Carrier pilot still can't eject them. Pilots can cloak while traveling in a carrier. Pilots cannot search for PU's while inside a carrier.
Scrap limit is apparently set at 5k. no apparent issues with comms being scrambled in NSA.

I've paused the frantic but will unpause in a few hours and set it to beta ticks so that I have time to catch up with the bugs that have been reported. Thanks all for your help.

Not done the stats system yet
. Something I've been thinking of doing is just releasing the data and letting people build tools to analyse them in any way they want.
The stats system for v2 will definitely need updating from what we had before! I'm sure you guys will have lots of ideas on that?
