I just tried the same version of IE on a windows 7 machine and I had to click twice. NB clicking twice, even a few seconds, apart counts. It doesn't have to be a double click.
Can you test again please just to confirm it's a problem? have put you out of hyperspace and given you 3 moves.

Just remembered there's 3 different maps to choose from. I would always click on the flash one. That one is single click. The normal navcom needs a double click.

Oh, that'll explain, lol. Thanks for checking.
The normal navcom should work quicker and have more info (destination arrows etc) so you might want to use that one if it works ok for you.

I think I got into the habit of using the flash one cause I was using IE8 up until recently and a lot of the stuff didn't work with that. I'll be sure to start using the normal navcom now. Though that'll give me no excuses if I misjump somewhere.
